People lined up starting at midnight and when the giveaway started at 9 a.m., the line reached from the north east entrance of the Citadel Mall by the Burlington Coat Factory, around the north side of the store, all the way around into the lower lot near the Food Court.
People at the end of the line were told they’d have a four-hour wait to get inside, but everyone was in for the long haul. Once inside the mall, families were greeted by volunteers who escorted them into the giveaway. The kids picket out a stuffed animal, book & toy, then entered an area called “Olivia’s Corner” where they could pick out something for their parents and have it wrapped by volunteers.
At the end of the giveaway, the kids had an opportunity to grab a ticket for a chance to receive a bicycle. The parents received a bag of food and the choice of a frozen turkey, whole chicken or a ham.
This years Bob Telmosse Christmas Giveaway was a great success and a wonderful opportunity for the Chapter to volunteer and provide support to the community. The event once again proved to be a very successful Devotional Day for the Chapter. Great Job everyone for all your assistance!!
