In November of 2008 Google announced they will be hosting millions of historic photos from the LIFE magazine archive, stretching from the 1750s to today. Most were never published and are now available for the first time through the joint work of LIFE and Google. If you do a search on the word "masonic", most of the results are from a Masonic/Shrine breakfast in February 1952 in Washington DC at the Statler Hotel (now the Capital Hilton). Dad Land was not Imperial Potentate of the Shrine until 1954 so it’s unclear why he and Truman are attending this breakfast and why there is little to no Masonic regalia on display.
Several of the pictures of Dad Land and Truman are included here, but feel free to view some great pictures by doing a search yourself.
Note: This information was initially posted on the Teddy Roosevelt Chapter Blog.

As many of you might know today is Friday the 13. A day in which many people associate with bad luck or events. The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskavedekatriaphobia, a word derived from the concatenation of the Greek words Paraskeví (meaning Friday), and dekatreís (meaning thirteen), attached to phobía (meaning fear) [1]. |
